Radio 03:20
-Radio- I don’t read the morning paper I just watch the evening news, While I listen to the radio I just listen to the radio I’ve been spending my evenings later, And I’ve stopped looking for the clues, While I listen to the radio I just listen to the radio I just try to think on nothing, And let the answers come on through, While I listen to the stereo I just listen to the stereo I have tried to act on feeling, And let things fall into place, While I listen to the stereo I just listen to the stereo It’s song reminds me of some place else And all the things I thought I felt Well, there’s a metal box upon this shelf That sings the sound of my own sense of self In another verse I’ll become a mess But still I’ll I feel like I’m something less But I want more I want more I want more I want more I light a cigarette to remember something, And I pour another shot of booze, While I listen to the radio I just listen to my radio

-Of All the Things- Of all the things to take apart, Oh, why you chose a heart? Of all the things ever known but unforeseen, Bitterness was the broken promise of a ring Find time to stare at the sky It reveals better places to hide Drop your bitchy questioning of why ‘Cause I adore your sleepy-eyed storytime For you, the room chills and spins, And it shatters glass morale, yet again Estranged we selected wayward paths, Always knowing there’s no way back Find time to stare at the sky It reveals better places to hide Drop your bitchy questioning of why ‘Cause I adore your sleepy-eyed storytime Of all the things to take apart… Of all the things to take apart… Of all the things to take apart… Of all the things to take apart… Why did you pluck my heart? And now you want me to say that I’m sorry

Dobrý Den 03:02
-Dobrý Den- The weather’s beautiful here in Prague, And the beer gardens open up Sometimes it’s hard to wait, Until you complete your working day You want to go You want to go You want to go, But take it slow Tourists walk on Charles Bridge They watch musicians and they hold their kids, And once your feet hit the cobble stone, You’ll feel right at home You’re right at home You’re right at home You’re right at home You should write home And the British boys drink all day, And the Russian girls want to stay ‘Cause they know secrets I don’t, And that’s alright ‘cause I’ll find them here in Prague So go! It’s warm and ancient in the castle Although you’re exhausted, it will help you manage, To take your mind off those taxing things, And it lets your holiday truly begin Let it begin Let it begin Let it begin You should give in You can leave your heartbreak for this city You’ll find sweet beauties with a new identity It repairs your soul and it fuels your belly, And you’ll leave the rest behind Leave it behind Leave it behind Leave it behind This is your time And the British boys drink all day, And the Russian girls want to stay ‘Cause they know secrets I don’t, And that’s alright ‘cause I’ll find them here in Prague So go! Children play behind the sun, With foreign languages on the run, And Matt has an inclining, That John wants to explore and sing He wants to sing He wants to sing He wants to sing, To love and dream To love and dream
4.
-Sometime Tonight- All routine, it’s been there for awhile It was bleeding us, now it’s killing us I feel your love, it’s hidden somewhere There’s less of a spark, and I want you to care In our minds, replaying our time, Well, there’s love in there, so fucking care Stay with me while I sleep Then I’ll know your mind, and you’re mine to keep A time apart, too much time apart Think it out, and let your heart grow fond One more thought, and then I’ll go I’ll leave you here, and I’ll shut this door So, take me with for a little while, At least in thought, at least in smiles Oh, I already miss you Oh, I already miss you (I hope you do too) Oh, I already miss you Oh, I already miss you What else can I do, tonight?
5.
Dead Romance 06:17
-Dead Romance- Our destiny, it failed this far, and now, I know why You put everything off until the end, And everything remained the same From safety until now, We were reducing the speed, To realize all the terror and were forced to grit our teeth You’re crazy; I know You’re dizzy; so what? You’re lost and lonely but smell like home Those observations from desperate minds, They’re are emotionally straining No one wants to end up here: adrift and paying a toll I try to reflect on the animal Perhaps it’s just my way I try to think it out sometimes, but blurry have become such days You’re crazy; I know You’re dizzy; so what? You’re lost and lonely but smell like home You’re crazy; I know You’re dizzy; so what? You’re lost and lonely but smell like home And when the suppressed memories spark, They mentally double for your time So, perhaps everything within in this design are the things we were destine to find I realized all our years as our romance died Yeah, I realized all those years, As our romance died I’ll never go back home I’ll never go back home I’ll never go back home No, I’ll never go back home…

about

Last Dances & Longing Glances is the follow-up companion piece to the previously released EP, Near Misses & Stolen Kisses. This album follows a similar focus of the previous album in the way each band member explores the darker side of social experiences and mashes it up with drive and moments of whimsy.

The lyrical content of the album is for the audience to decipher. Although much of DeMarte’s lyrical writing is based on personal and somewhat esoteric experiences, the central heart and crafting of the EP is the music itself. This is demonstrated throughout with many musical breaks and upbeat transitions from Genova and Scholfield. To sum up: sit and ponder if you wish, but the band’s recommendation it to dance and move about. This is borderline garage rock, treat it as such.

The band is also joined by the very talented Tori Cadle on two of the tracks. Cadle adds a nice balance, a ying to the band’s yang (or vice versa), by sharing her well-crafted and refined singing voice and pensive piano lines; she is the bell of the ball here. Don’t be fooled though; she radiates hints of despair that matches the band’s persona.

Luckily for Artless Bravado, they have the same (and very talented) sound engineer, Billy Armijo, from their previous EP and the same brilliant photographer, Keturah Davis, who worked on their cover art. Both spent countless hours editing the sound and sight of the EP. This EP is a reflection of their mastery as well.
